One more post before I go to bed ...

  Artistic tomatoes at Borough Market:

After last night's Strigiform concert I thought I might post shortbread owls found on a stall!

Southwark Cathedral:

This is someone special I met there; meet Magnificat who is a stray who has adopted the cathedral (and been adopted by them).

I thought I was seeing a ghost when she flitted past me but the guides assured me she is real and she has her own cushion on the Bishop's Throne behind the altar:

I was told by some of the cathedral guides (ladies called Sara and Brenda) that it is a mutual arrangement - she keeps down the Church Mice and they feed her cat food! She is apparently very timid, but the old quarryquest charm seemed to work! I was very privileged to be able to sit down next to her and have a scratch and get a purr.

A pretty arrangement from the cathedral to finish:

Edit:  I have just found this article which tells you more about how Magnificat came to be living at Southwark Cathedral. I have sent the photos I took both to the cathedral and the fur-n-pur contact address so we shall see if I get any replies.

This is endearing! I do know that there are church (or library) cats in Britain, and I love it immensely! I have seen one in Salisbury Cathedral myself. Great pictures, what a lovely creature in a lovely church! I did see Southwark Cathedral but only from outside...
Fanstastic flowers there, so lively and bright!
Also thanks for that link, I will explore it later. I wonder if they wil send you a reply.
